Michael DeRoy was named an Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning at Central Michigan in July 2023. He returned to CMU, where he served as a summer intern from May-July 2021. In his current position, he currently works with the Chippewas' football, wrestling, and lacrosse teams.

DeRoy moved back to Mid-Michigan after working the 2022-23 academic year as an assistant human performance coach at Miami (Ohio), where he directed strength and conditioning activities for the men's and women's swimming & diving, baseball, and softball teams.

Over the years, DeRoy has worked as a graduate assistant at both Kent State (2021-22) and Minnesota State-Moorhead (2020-21), where has worked with a variety of sports including men's and women's track & field, men's and women's cross country, cheer and dance, developmental baseball, wrestling, women's tennis, women's swimming & diving, and women's soccer.

A Warren, Mich. native, DeRoy graduated from Saginaw Valley State with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science in August 2020. He earned a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State-Moorhead in July 2021.

He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.
