2023 (Outdoor): Competed at three separate meets running the 800, 1500, and 5000 ... earned a personal best in the 800 with a time of 2:17.67 and placed 11th as the first Chippewa to cross the line at the Golden Grizzly T&F Invite (April 8) ... ran a personal best in the 1500 at the Spartan Invite (March 31) placing 25th ... finished the 5000 in 17:44.85 at the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 13-15) and placed 42nd.
2022-23 (Indoor): Competed at six meets running the 800, Mile, 3000, 5000, and the 4x400 ... ran a 2:21.2 in the 800 at the SVSU Jet’s Pizza Invitational (Jan. 27-28) and was the second Chippewa to cross the line and placed 10th overall ... set a personal best of 5:08.44 during the mile at the Silverton Invitational (Feb. 17) placing sixth ... ran a 10:27.5 in the 3000 placing 32nd in the Meyo Invitational (Feb. 3-4) ... ran a personal best 5000 at 17:37.98 and placed 13th at the MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 24-25) ... competed in the BGSU Falcon Early bird Open (Jan. 14) running the 4x400 in 4:38.23 and placing seventh.
2022 (Cross Country): Competed in three different meets and ran the 6k ... placed 103rd with a personal best of 22:15.6 at the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region Cross Country Championships.
High School: Personal Records: 400m (1:00.05), 800m (2:17.16), 1600m (5:06.22), 3200m (11:26.05), 3 mile (17:22.00), 5k (18:19.70) … four-year track and cross country letterwinner … earned all-state accolades for cross country in 2019, 2021 and track in 2021 and 2022 … all-conference honoree in both track (2018-2021) and cross country (2019-2022) … competed with Loveland High School to become state runner-up at Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Cross Country Championships in 2021.
Personal: Daughter of Elvina Ewing-Gibbins and John Gibbins … has two sisters, older sister Kayla and twin sister Laurel … studies biology with concentrations in ecology, conservation and evolution … aspires to become a wildlife biologist … Fun facts: “I have a twin and I can play the flute!”
Why CMU?: “When I visited CMU it seemed like a perfect fit. I was excited about the CMU biological station on Beaver Island as well as the different choices of biology concentrations they had. I got to know the cross country team through Mario Kart and I knew that was a team I wanted to be a part of.”
