Maeva Lichtensteiger joined the Central Michigan Soccer coaching staff ahead of Head Coach James DeCosemo's inaugural 2026 campaign as a graduate student assistant coach, working directly with application and collection of analytics along with practice planning.
Lichtensteiger will go down as one of the greatest in NAIA Aquinas College Women's Soccer history, playing for the Saints from 2021-24, under DeCosemo's direction for much of her time at Aquinas. The standout midfielder accumulated 90 total points, playing in all 67 matches she was available for, starting 50. She competed in every match of DeCosemo's head coaching tenure with the Saints for a 55-5-7 record, the program's first NAIA national quarterfinal appearance, an unprecedented run in the NAIA national rankings, netted two first-team All-America nods and was named the 2024 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year.
The Brussels, Ontario native graduated from Aquinas in the fall of 2024 with a bachelor's in clinical exercise science and a minor in athletic coaching. She took her fifth year of eligibilty to North Dakota State where she began her graduate school pursuit, tallied a pair of assists and a pair of starts across nine appearances, averaging nearly 30 minutes per appearance. She transferred to Central Michigan upon DeCosemo's hire to complete her education.
