Club: Played for Midwest United ENCL of Grand Rapids, Mich. throughout high school … played with Alliance Academy of Cadillac, Mich. (2015-21) and Cadillac Crush (2014-16)
Personal: Daughter of Greg and Sara Schamanek … has one older sister, Lydia, who played soccer at Kellogg Community College (2022-23) … Her parents, aunt Tamara and grandfather Kenneth all hold a degree from Central Michigan University … father, Greg, played both baseball and football at NCAA III DePauw University (IN) (1991-92) … mother, Sara, competed for NCAA III Alma College Swimming & Diving (1993-95) … uncle, Chad Rumsey, competed for NCAA II Grand Valley State Swimming & Diving (1991-95) … plans to pursue a career in interior design and real estate … enjoys going to the beach, trail riding and traveling … pregame routine includes eating a pancake and swiping her hands across the playing field’s grass when taking the field
Why CMU?: “Most of my family have attended CMU. When I started realizing college soccer was for me, they all pushed me to look at CMU. I never really gave much interest because I planned to go out of state, somewhere warm, until I started talking with the coaches and a previous teammate, Caitlin Gill, about what CMU had to offer. I went for a visit and immediately knew I was at the place for me. It felt homey, which was exactly what I was looking for.”
