Ruston Smith joined the Central Michigan Sports Medicine Department in February 2024. He serves as the athletic trainer for the Chippewas' men's and women's cross country and women's track and field teams.
Previously, Smith worked as an athletic trainer at MyMichigan Health for six months. He also worked as a graduate assistant trainer at Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Smith graduated from Southern Arkansas University in 2021 with a bachelor of education degree in atheltic training. He also earned a Master of Science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Sport Administration in 2023.
