Superb track and field standout who completed for the Chippewas from 1961-64 ... twice won the Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) low hurdles title ... once tied the national indoor record of :06.8 ... also set a CMU javelin record the first time he competed in the event ... was a member of Central's nationally-recognized mile relay team ... won the Michigan AAU decathlon title and set a record in the process ... held six different indoor and outdoor CMU marks, and also found time to be an honor student in the classroom ... has been head of the National Volleyball Association in South Africa and is a pioneer of intramural and physical education programs.
