Three-sport standout for CMU in the mid-1940s ... earned three letters in basketball ... was second-leading scorer on three teams - the 1942-43 team that was 12-2, 1945-46 that was 12-6 and 1946-47 that was 17-6 ... was all-state collegiate in '43 and top defensive player and captain as a senior ... won one varsity letter in baseball in 1946 ... lettered in tennis in 1942, '43 and '47 ... lost only two matches in three seasons ... '42 team was undefeated ... played in the National Intercollegiate Championships in '47 ... was a successful basketball and golf coach at Mt. Pleasant High School.
