Football, basketball and track standout who graduated in 1929 ... voted to all-time Central team in 1969 ... was captain on 1928 and '29 teams ... twice named All-Michigan College Conference ... was a big man for his day at 6-3, 210 pounds ... was a starter on conference championship basketball team and set a Central record in discus ... followed his collegiate career with successful coaching stints in Saginaw, Cadillac and at the University of Michigan ... was athletic director at Lincoln University in Coatesville, Pa., and became football coach and AD at Willamette University in Oregon (1949) ... later became head coach at Slippery Rock ... high school coaching record was 93-23 in football and 180-47 in basketball ... he is deceased.
