In an era when scoring was at a premium, Chuck once tallied 46 points in a basketball game in 1946 ... the mark lasted for 26 years as a school record and is still tied for third best in school history ... was CMU's first all-state selection among Michigan colleges in '46 ... set a season record for points in 1946 of 381 ... career scoring average of 15.6 is still 10th in school history and his mark of 18.6 in 1945-46 is 15th ... led CMU in scoring all three years on varsity, and also paced the freshman team ... career was interrupted for three years by World War II ... taught and coached at Grandville, Grand Rapids Central and East Lansing before coaching basketball and golf at Ferris State University where he was a math professor ... retired in 1977 but still taught at St. Petersburg JC until 1993.
