No. 1 man in golf for three years ... finished third and second in his final two Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) championships ... top two PGA tour finishes were second in the New Orleans Open and sixth at the Greater Greensboro Open ... was the Michigan PGA champion twice, and was named Golf Professional of the Year for Michigan in 1980 ... 16.8 career scoring average (1,057 points in 63 games) in basketball is sixth best in school history, and his 19.5 mark in 1955-56 is ninth ... once scored 46 points in a game and pulled down 24 rebounds in another ... product of Grand Rapids Union High.
