A first team academic All-American basketball player in 1967, John helped lead the Chippewas to three straight NAIA tournaments ... team was 65-16 in his three years on varsity, advancing to the nationals in 1966 and '67 where CMU won its first game both years before losing ... first team all-Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection in 1967 and second team in '66 ... team captain and MVP as a senior ... a product of Wyoming High.
