Earned 10 letters during his four-year career at CMU, four in baseball and three each in football and basketball ... hit more than .400 in four straight seasons, setting a single season mark of .486 in 1941 ... Leo started three years in basketball and the Chippewas were 40-12 ... scored 10.8 points a game as a senior in '41 ... quarterbacked the frosh football team to an 8-0 record in 1937, and the Chippewas were 18-5-1 during his three varsity seasons ... named CMU's first Little All-American in 1939 ... coached at Pinconning, Mount Pleasant and Bay City Central Highs before returning to CMU in 1954 ... was an assistant football coach from 1954-63 and had an 86-46-2 record as a swimming coach from 1955-67 ... native of Grand Rapids ... was the CMU golf coach from 1955-1984.
