Women's Soccer Tops Kent State 2-1

KENT, Ohio--The Central Michigan University women's soccer team (4-8 overall, 2-3 Mid-American Conference) topped Kent State University by a 2-1 count on Sunday afternoon.
The Chippewas got on the board first when Emilie VilleMonte (Farmington Hills/So.) took a lead pass that sent her in on a one-on-one breakway at 34:24. It was her third goal of the season.
Kent tied the game late in the first half on a Sara Figuly score at 38:31 but the Chippewas got the game winner early in the second half when Katie Rawlings (North Olmsted, OH) scored at 49:01.
Goalie Beth Quiney (Milford/Jr.) played the entire match and made seven saves while allowing one goal.
The Chippewas return to action on Friday when they travel to Marshall.
