The Central Michigan University men's basketball team (3-1 overall, 0-0 Mid-American Conference) posted its third straight victory with an 81-63 win over Rochester College (4-5) on Wednesday night in Rose Arena.
CMU took control from the start, going on a 20-6 run to jump to a 23-9 advantage. Central built its lead to 45-21 at the half. The Chippewas held Rochester to a .267 (8-30) shooting mark in the first half while shooting .500 (17-34) from the floor.
The Chippewas extended their lead to as many as 32 points in the second half before Rochester went on a 20-5 run to cut the lead to 74-57 with three minutes to play. The Chippewas didn't let the Warriors get any closer in the final minutes of the game.
Three Chippewas scored in double figures to pace CMU. David Webber had 13 points and five rebounds, Willie Wallace had 12 points and Dan Schell 11. Jason Webber had a team-best seven rebounds and Tim Kisner was tops with five assists.
Rochester's Pete Males scored a game-high 20 points while Chris Doak had 16 and Terry Patterson 12.
CMU travels to Illinois State on Dec. 4.
