Chippewas Fall To Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY - The Central Michigan University men's basketball team (3-10 overall, 0-4 Mid-American Conference) dropped its fourth straight conference game to the University at Buffalo (5-5, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) by a 71-58 count on Wednesday night Alumni Arena.
Buffalo led 33-32 at the half, but the Chippewas fought back to take a 42-40 lead with 14:45 to play in the game. The game went back and forth before the Bulls went on a 7-1 run to take control. UB increased its lead to as many as nine before the Chippewas cut the lead to just three points (61-58) with 3:41 to go. UB's Louis Campbell hit a pair of free throws and a dunk to help put the game out of reach.
Buffalo outshot CMU, .407-.322, and outrebounded the Chippewas, 46-33.
CMU was led by David Webber who scored a game-high 21 points. He also pulled down a team-best eight rebounds. Tim Kisner had a season-high 20 points.
Buffalo was led by Louis Campbell with 18 points. Kerry Hendrickson added 13 and Nikolai Alexeev 11.
The Chippewas host Western Michigan on Jan. 15 at 2 p.m.
