The Central Michigan University volleyball team (5-15 overall, 2-8 Mid-American Conference) lost to Marshall University (13-8 overall, 7-3 Mid-American Conference) in three games on Saturday night in Rose Arena.
The Thundering Herd won by game scores of 15-11, 15-11 and 15-4.
The Chippewas were led by junior Jennifer Mitchell (Lake Odessa) with 17 kills, 10 digs and four total blocks. The match was Mitchell's second straight double-double effort and her seventh on the year. Freshman Stacey Bida (Royal Oak) posted the first double-double of her career with 11 kills and a team-best 11 digs. Senior Tennille Hileski (Allegan) had 10 kills and junior Jessica Rocho (Honolulu, HI) had 43 assists and 10 digs.
Marshall was led by Heidi Kuethe with 16 kills and three blocks while Wendy Williams had 12 kills and 12 digs.
The Chippewas travel to Buffalo on Oct. 29.
