Chippewas Sweep Oakland

The Central Michigan University volleyball team (6-19 overall, 2-12 Mid-American) swept Oakland University (6-23 overall) in a non-conference match on Tuesday night in Rose Arena. The Chippewas won by scores of 15-7, 15-2, 15-13.
The win snaps a 10-match losing streak, the longest in CMU history.
Junior Jennifer Mitchell (Lake Odessa) led the Chippewas with 16 kills and five block assists. Freshman Stacey Bida (Royal Oak) had 10 kills while senior Tennille Hileski (Allegan) had seven kills, one block solo and four block assists. Junior Jessica Rocho (Honolulu, HI) posted 30 assists and a team-best nine digs.
The Chippewas had its best offensive outing of the season, hitting .315. The Golden Grizzlies hit just .031.
Oakland was led by Carmen Trippett with eight kills and Jaime Puckett with six kills and eight digs.
The Chippewas host Eastern Michigan on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m.
