MAC-Leading Ball State Defeats CMU, 3-1

The Central Michigan University volleyball team (6-21 overall, 2-14 Mid-American) fell to MAC-leading Ball State (24-5, 15-1 Mid-American) on Saturday, 3-1. The Chippewas took the opening game, 17-15, but then fell in three straight by scores of 15-6, 15-13, 15-1.
CMU hit .097 in the match compared to Ball State's .197. The Chippewas outblocked the Cardinals, 12-9.
Three Chippewas were in double figures in kills. Freshman Jennifer Trott (Canton) led CMU with her first career double-double of 14 kills and 20 digs. Both marks were career highs. Jennifer Mitchell (Lake Odessa/Jr.) added 11 kills, eight digs and five block assists. Jenny Young (Plymouth/Fr.) posted 10 kills, five digs and three block assists. Senior Erin LeSage (Livonia) posted 13 digs in her last match in Rose Arena and senior Tennille Hileski (Allegan) added seven kills and three block assists in her Rose Arena finale.
Freshman Kendra DeVries (Fremont) had five block assists. Setter Jessica Rocho (Honolulu, HI/Jr.) tallied 43 assists and 13 digs.
Five BSU players were in double figures in kills. Susie Meshberger had a match-high 16 kills and three block assists. Megan Hamons had 15 kills and 10 digs.
BSU setter Emily Sallee became Ball State's career assist leader with her 4,369th tally. She had 61 assists and four block assists in the match.
Ball State had 68 kills compared to 54 by CMU.
The Chippewas close out the season on the road next weekend, playing at Kent on Friday, Nov. 19, and Akron on Saturday, Nov. 20.
