David Webber Captures MAC Academic Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The honors keep pouring in for Central Michigan University sophomore David Webber (Farmington Hills/Country Day) who scored 51 points in the Chippewas' 91-80 loss to Ball State on Feb. 24.

Webber, who was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) "Offensive Player of the Week" on Monday, earned a second MAC honor when he was tabbed the MAC "Scholar-Athlete of the Week" on Tuesday.

The 6-2 guard is a 3.25 student majoring in secondary education. David also received the award two weeks ago.

The Chippewas, now 5-22 for the season and 2-16 in MAC play, open tourney action at Akron on Wednesday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m.
