Mount Pleasant, Mich. - Central Michigan University senior defensive Darnell Wilson was one of three Chippewas chosen as "Players of the Week" following the 31-7 Mid-American Conference (MAC) loss at Northern Illinois.
Wilson, a 6-3, 235-pounder from Flint Beecher High, had two tackles for losses of six yards and finished with four stops for the game.
The pick on offense was versatile junior Ira Gooch (Davenport, Ia./Ellsworth CC). He rushed 10 times for 33 yards, caught eight passes for 59 yards and returned one kickoff for 30 yards.
Junior Scott Naz (Port Huron/Walled Lake Western) was the choice on special teams where he made three solo tackles.
Scout team players of the week were quarterback Derrick Vickers (Miami, Fla./Monsignor Pace) and defensive back Bryan Keim (Sturgis).
