Eastern Michigan Beats Women's Soccer

YPSILANTI--The Central Michigan University women's soccer team fell to 0-2 in the Mid-American Conference with a 1-0 loss to Eastern Michigan University on Friday afternoon.
The game was a defensive duel until Eastern Michigan's Jessice Hupe scored at the 87:59 mark to give the Eagles the 1-0 advantage. EMU kept the Chippewas off the scoreboard in the final minutes to secure the victory.
CMU goalie Beth Quiney (Milford/Jr.) made nine saves and allowed one goal while Eastern's Sarah Willis made nine saves in the shutout.
The Chippewas had nine shots on goal on the afternoon. Laura Fedrigo (Livonia/Sr.) had three shots while Allison Campbell (Livonia/Jr.) had two.
The game marked CMU's fifth 1-0 loss on the year. CMU is now 2-7 overall.
The Chippewas return home to face Toledo on Sunday at 1 p.m.
