Women's Soccer Falls To Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y.--The Central Michigan University women's soccer team (3-8 overall, 1-3 Mid-American Conference) dropped a 1-0 decision to the University at Buffalo on Friday night.
The game-winning goal came in the opening minutes when Buffalo's Emily Russell got in behind CMU goalie Beth Quiney (Milford/Jr.) and netted the only goal at 2:46.
CMU dominated the remainder of the first half with 10 shots on goal. The Chippewas finished with a 15-5 edge in shots and a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. Missy Simons (Canton/Jr.) led the team in shots with three and quiney made one save in net while allowing one goal.
The Chippewas are at Kent State on Sunday for a 1 p.m., contest.
