Women's Soccer Falls To Illinois State

WEST LAFAYETTE, IN--The Central Michigan University women's soccer team (1-3 overall) lost to Illinois State University by a 1-0 count in the consolation match of the Purdue Boilermaker Challenge Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The lone goal of the contest came at 53:05 when a CMU defender put the ball in the Chippewas' own net.
CMU outshot Illinois State, 17-16. Allison Campbell (Livonia/Jr.) led the team with five shots. Chippewa netminder Aryn McCumber (Rochester Hills/So.) started the match at made three saves while playing the first 32:12. Elizabeth Quiney (Milford/Jr.) made five saves in relief.
Central hosts the Chippewa Fall Classic on Sept. 8 and 10 at the Soccer Field Inside Bennett Track. CMU takes on Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Sept. 8 at 4:30 p.m., and Wright State on Sept. 10 at noon.
