Women's Soccer Falls In Overtime

MOUNT PLEASANT--It took overtime but the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team defeated Central Michigan University by a 3-2 count on Friday afternoon in opening round action of the Chippewa Fall Classic.
The Panthers notched the game winner at 92:45 when a CMU defender headed the ball into the Chippewas' goal. The loss leaves CMU with a 1-4 overall record.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee scored first but CMU tied the game at 1-1 when freshman Jamie Tekotte (Fairview, Pa.) kicked in a cross from Emilie VilleMonte (Farmington Hills/So.) at the 27:35 mark.
UWM took a 2-1 advantage with a goal at 56:21 but CMU again rallied to tie the score when Allison Campbell (Livonia/Jr.) scored at 58:34.
CMU goalie Aryn McCumber (Rochester Hills/So.) made five saves.
In the opening game of the Chippewa Fall Classic, Wright State University beat Western Michigan University, 2-1. Wright State's Laura Senkowski scored the winning goal at the 89:52 mark to give the Raiders the win.
Action in the Chippewa Fall Classic wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 10. CMU takes on Wright State at noon while Western Michigan and Wisconsin-Milwaukee face off at 2:30 p.m.
