Soccer Rolls To 4-1 Win Over Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, OHIO - The Central Michigan women's soccer team (7-5-1 overall, 6-2 in the Mid-American Conference) finished off a busy week Sunday when they beat MAC foe Bowling Green, 4-1.
Allison Campbell (Livonia/Sr.) continued to lead the CMU offensive attack with two goals in the game. She gave the Chippewas the lead in the 29th minute when she scored off a penalty kick. She increased the CMU lead in the 63rd minute when she scored off an assist from Emilie VilleMonte (Farmington Hills/Jr.).
Bowling Green's Kristy Coppes opened the scoring in the sixth minute when she scored off an assist from Jenny Berlovan. CMU tied it up in the 17th minute when Anne Fedrigo (Livonia/Sr.) scored off an assist by Sabrina Borgquist (West Bloomfield/Jr.). Jenny Williamson (Midland/So.) capped off the scoring with a goal in the 73rd minute. Olina Vidarsdottir (Grinavik, Iceland/Fr.) and Borgquist picked out assists on the play. Kari Alexander (Midland/So.) faced nine shots, six of which were on goal. She made four saves to pick up the victory for the Chippewas.
Central Michigan returns to action next Friday, Oct. 19, to host Buffalo in what will be a meeting between the top two teams in the MAC standings. The game is set to start at 3 p.m.
