Women's Soccer Topples Buffalo, 4-1

MOUNT PLEASANT - The Central Michigan women's soccer team (8-5-1 overall, 7-2 Mid-American) grabbed a share of first place in the MAC with a victory over Buffalo on Friday afternoon, 4-1.
Allison Campbell (Livonia/Sr.) scored three times to lead the Chippewas to victory. Her first goal came in the seventh minute when she found the back of the net off of a rebound. She scored again in the 54th minute when she headed in a free kick from Lisa Taube (Brighton/Fr.), who picked up an assist. Campbell tallied the final goal in the 80th minute when she headed in a rebound. Emilie VilleMonte (Farmington/Jr.) picked up an assist on the play.
Olina Vidarsdottir (Grindavik, Iceland/Fr.) scored in the 32nd minute to give CMU a two- goal cushion. Melissa Simons (Canton/Sr.) picked up an assist on the play. Lindsay Mislin scored the lone goal for Buffalo with Jenny Dannecker picking up an assist.
Kari Alexander (Midland/So.) faced five shots, three of which were on goal. She made two saves to pick up the victory.
CMU returns to action this Sunday, Oct. 21, when it host Kent State. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
