Women's Track Hosts Jack Skoog Open

MOUNT PLEASANT--The Central Michigan women's track and field team hosted the nonscoring Jack Skoog Open on Friday night.
Melissa Brousseau led the Chippewas with a first-place finish in the shot put. Brousseau won the event with a mark of 48-5.50, bettering her old mark of 48-5 1/4.
Also winning events were LaQuesha Wiley, Abby Jaroscak, Maria Derezinski, Brook Creed, Jackie Bozin and Jane Ludtke.
Wiley took top honors in the 60m in a time of 7.78. She also finished second in the long jump (18-8).
Jaroscak won the 200m in a time of 26.58. She also took second in the 60m (7.88) and 60m hurdles (9.03).
Derezinski finished first in the 60m hurdles (8.95) and took second in the triple jump (37-11.25).
Creed finished first in the 800m (2:15.48), Bozin won the high jump (5-6) and Ludtke won the 20-pound weight (54-8/25). The CMU 4x400m relay team also won (3:57.41).
The Chippewas host the Mid-American Conference indoor track and field championships next Friday and Saturday.
