Volleyball Continues Spring Schedule

MOUNT PLEASANT--The Central Michigan University volleyball team continued its spring season last weekend at a tournament hosted by Illinois State. The Chippewas went 2-2-1 on the weekend.

CMU defeated Illinois Weslyean in the first match, 30-20 and 30-17. Jodi Jesion (Oregon, Ohio) led Central with nine kills and Kristin Tack (Saginaw) added seven.

The Chippewas then downed Peoria 30-27 and 30-29. Tack posted nine-kills in the winning effort and Elizabeth Passen (Fishers, Ind.) had six kills.

Tack added another eight kills in a split with the ISU Alumni team. Central lost the first game 30-23 and came back to win the second 30-25. Passen tallied seven kills in the match as well.

CMU closed the tournament with a pair of losses to Western Illinois (30-23, 30-25) and Illinois State (30-22, 30-26). Jesion had six kills to lead Central against WIU and Tack had a weekend-high 13 kills against ISU.
