Volleyball Posts Second Win At Marquette University Challenge

Mount Pleasant--The Central Michigan University volleyball team extended its success at the Marquette University Challenge by posting its second-straight win, this one a 3-1 victory over Eastern Kentucky Saturday morning. Central is now 3-2 overall.
The game scores were 30-26, 30-28, 23-30, 23-30 and 15-12.
Freshman Emily Lovejoy (Traverse City) knocked down her fourth double-double of the season with a match-high 23 kills and 10 digs.
Shaleene Glombowski (Marysville/So.) posted a career-high 65 assists. She also posted a team-high 17 digs to earn a double-double.
Kristin Tack (Saginaw/Sr.) and Melissa Reynolds (Port Huron/So.) each contributed 11 kills. Reynolds helped in stopping the Colonels' offense with two block solos and two block assists.
Senior Jodi Jesion (Oregon, Ohio) and freshman Lisa Sellers (Battle Creek) stepped up defensively with 12 and 15 digs, respectively.
Coming in second in the Chippewas' kills column was Kendra DeVries (Fremont/Jr.) with 14 kills. Susie Smith (Kalamazoo/Jr.) came close to a double-double with eight kills and 10 digs.
The Chippewas face Marquette for the final match in the challenge at 8 p.m., Saturday night.
