MILKAUKEE, WIS.- The Central Michigan's womens soccer team (0-3-1 overall) dropped a 1-0 contest to Marquette in a rain-soaked game on Sunday afternoon.
Marquette scored its lone goal in the ninth minute of the game. The Golden Eagles' forward Erin Maysent scored from eight yards out after a scramble for the ball in the goal box. Forward Kate Gorden was credited with an assist.
Central Michigan goalkeeper Kari Alexander (Midland/So.) stopped seven shots on goal for the Chippewas while Ashleigh Koenig stopped five for the Golden Eagles.
Central Michigan returns to action next Friday, Sept. 14, at Western Michigan.
