Wright State Drops Volleyball In Three

DAYTON, OHIO--The Central Michigan volleyball team (2-6 overall) was defeated by Wright State in three games on Saturday afternoon at the Raider Challenge. The game scores were 17-30, 28-30, and 25-30.
Central put up 10 total team blocks to WSU's five, but couldn't put the ball away on offense as the Raiders swept the Chippewas in three games. For the match, the Chippewas tallied a .039 hitting percentage while the Raiders totaled a .197 hitting percentage. CMU had 43 digs to Wright State's 47.
Setting up the CMU offense was junior Shaleene Glombowski (Marysville). She picked up 25 assists, five digs, and five block assists.
Kendra DeVries (Fremont/Sr.) had a team-high eight kills with two errors in 19 attempts for a .316 hitting percentage. She also picked up four block assists.
Liz Passen (Fishers, Ind./Jr.) chipped in seven kills with two errors in 16 attempts for a .313 hitting percentage. Passen posted five digs, one block solo, and four block assists.
Melissa Reynolds (Port Huron/Jr.) added six kills.
Freshman Katie Dum (Indianapolis, Ind.) saw action in two games and notched a team-high 11 digs.
Wright State's Tricia Naseman posted a match-high 12 kills while teammate McKenzie Tiffin added 10.
Setter Mandy Gels dished out 34 assists and scooped up a match-high 12 digs. Gretchen Busch tied Gels on defense with 12 digs.
The Chippewas take on Austin Peay at 4:30 p.m., on Saturday to close out the Raider Challenge.
