Volleyball Goes 0-3 On Weekend

Bloomington, Ind.--The Central Michigan volleyball team (3-9 overall) closed out the IU Credit Union Classic with a loss to Butler on Saturday night. The team went 0-3 on the weekend. The game scores were 19-30, 30-22, 27-30, and 28-30.
Although the Chippewas had more kills (60-53) and digs (69-65) than the Butler Bulldogs, hitting and serving errors cost CMU the match. Central committed 16 service errors and 32 hitting errors for a .166 hitting percentage in the match. Butler totaled a .139 (53-30-165) hitting percentage for the match.
Four Chippewas tallied double-digit kill figures. Freshman Tamara Fant (New Baltimore) totaled an impressive 11 kills with one error in 24 attempts for a .417 hitting percentage.
Emily Lovejoy (Traverse City/So.) posted a team-high 14 kills while Liz Passen (Fishers, Ind./Jr.) had 13. Kendra DeVries (Fremont/Sr.) added 10 kills.
Junior Shaleene Glombowski (Marysville) dished out 50 assists in the loss.
Ali McCrite (New Albany, Ind./Fr.) picked up a match-high 18 digs.
Katie Dum (Indianapolis, Ind./Fr.) saw action in all four games and posted seven kills and 10 digs.
Butler's Kali Carter posted a double-double with a match-high 20 kills and 12 digs.
The Chippewas are on the road to open the Mid-American Conference season. The team heads to Western Michigan on Friday and Northern Illinois on Saturday. Friday's match begins at 7 p.m., while Saturday's match begins at 7 p.m., (CST).
