Volleyball Falls To UM-Kansas City In Four Games

Carbondale, Ill.--The Central Michigan volleyball team (0-5) was defeated by the UM-Kansas City Kangaroos in four games Saturday night. The game scores were 22-30, 30-24, 26-30, and 24-30.
Four Chippewas tallied double-digit kill figures on the night. Emily Lovejoy (Traverse City/So.) tied with UMKC's Lindsey Zerr for a match-high 14 kills. Lovejoy also picked up 14 digs for a double-double. Liz Passen (Fishers, Ind./Jr.), Kendra DeVries (Fremont/Sr.), and Melissa Reynolds (Port Huron/Jr.) each notched 11 kills in the match.
UMKC's Noe Perreira nailed 13 kills while Katie Keating had 11. The Kangaroos tallied 61 kills to the Chippewas' 56.
Shaleene Glombowski (Marysville/Jr.) and Jaimeson Whitman (Midland/Fr.) split setting duties for CMU. Whitman made her first appearance on the court in a Central uniform and dished out 32 assists. Glombowski was credited with 18 assists.
Ali McCrite (New Albany, Ind./Fr.) totaled a team-high 15 digs while the Chippewas as a team gathered 68 digs. The Kangaroos turned in 79 digs for the match. Keating (UMKC) tallied a match-high 21 digs.
CMU played Murray State at 4:30 (CT). Match results will be available as soon as possible.
