CHICAGO -- The Central Michigan University women' soccer team ended the regular season with a 1-0 loss to Loyola-Chicago on Saturday afternoon.
Lauren Vineyard was the difference in the game. Her tally in the 27th minute of play was all that Loyola needed to edge the Chippewas (8-8-2 overall). She deflected a shot from 20 yards out which slipped past the diving Chippewa netminder, Anne Decker.
While the Ramblers (7-10) turned in a 1-0 win, the Chippewas outshot the home team. CMU held an 8-3 advantage at the half and ended the match outshooting Loyola, 10-5. The Chippewas fired eight shots on net to the Ramblers' two.
Jill Adams led the Chippewas with three shots.
Anne Decker made one save. She saw five shots.
The Chippewas return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 4, when they play at Ball State in the Mid-American Conference Tournament first round. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
