Kent State Tops Soccer, 1-0

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The Central Michigan University women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought match to Kent State at the CMU Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon, 1-0.
The Chippewas fall to 2-3-2 for the season and are 1-2-1 in Mid-American Conference play. Kent State remains perfect in conference action with a 4-0-0 mark. The Golden Flashes are 6-2-0 for the season.
KSU took the late lead when Uma Ramadorai walked in on the left side and hit a bomb over the CMU netminder Anne Decker at 71:37.
The two battled in the first half but neither team connected to put a goal on the scoreboard. The Golden Flashes outshot the Chippewas in the first stanza, 6-1, but both went into halftime with one shot on net. KSU finished the game by out shooting the Chippewas, 10-3
Anne Decker got the nod in net. She made two saves and faced 10 Kent State shots. Alicia Fernandez was between the pipes for Kent State and recorded her second shutout for the season. She made two saves for the game.
The Chippewas continue their MAC slate when they play at Ball State on Friday, September 26. CMU returns for a home date against defending MAC champion Miami on Sunday, September 28. Match time at the CMU Soccer Complex is set for 1 p.m.
