Webber Signs With Local CBA Team

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Former Central Michigan University standout David Webber signed a contract with the Great Lakes Storm of the Continental Basketball Association on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
The Storm play their home games in the Birch Run Expo Center.
Webber was the 2001 Mid-American Conference "Player of the Year" and an honorable mention All-America selection. He averaged a MAC-high 18.4 points per game in 2001 as CMU won the MAC regular season title. Webber ranks third in CMU scoring annals with 1,774 points.
Former Chippewa Tim Kisner is also playing in the CBA for the Dakota Wizards. The two former teammates will face off in Birch Run on Saturday, Jan. 24, and Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Kisner and Webber were teammates for a few weeks while with the United States Basketball League's Oklahoma Storm.
