VALPARAISO, Ind. - The Central Michigan University soccer team statistically dominated its match with Valparaiso, but was unable to earn a road victory, falling 1-0.
The Chippewas out shot Valparaiso, 17-6, and won the corner kick battle, 5-1.
For the second-straight match CMU played without starters Lisa Taube and Alison Heydorn. The Chippewas fall to 8-7-3 overall this season with Valparaiso improving to 9-7-2. CMU hosts Miami for its first-round match in the Mid-American Conference tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m.
The Crusaders lone goal came in the 21st minute off a direct free kick by Emily King. King took the shot from 20 yards out, scoring the lone goal of the match.
Crusader keeper Erin Murray made six saves and CMU keeper Anne Decker made two.
