Tom Pantlind has always had a love for basketball.
"My twin brother and I have been playing since we were three," said the 6-8 Central Michigan University forward. "We used to play on a mini hoop."
Since then, he's been playing non-stop.
The redshirt junior comes from East Grand Rapids High where he was an all-conference and all-area selection. He wanted to continue his basketball career and decided to walk-on at CMU.
Pantlind arrived in Mount Pleasant in the fall of 2000, and immediately bonded with the team. "All the seniors are really close," he said.
Being so close to his team members, having the opportunity to be part of the Chippewa basketball team, winning last year's MAC tournament, and going to the NCAA tournament are among his biggest career accomplishments.
Outside of basketball, Pantlind enjoys playing the guitar, piano and just hanging out with friends. "I'm a really down to earth, people person," he said.
But basketball is his first love. To enjoy a good academic standing, Pantlind works hard, but has a good balance between school and basketball.
"Basketball has helped budget my time, set priorities, and be able to get away from everything for three hours and just play ball with friends," Tom said.
