Baseball Drops Two To Southeast Missouri State

CAPE GIRADEAU, Mo. - The Central Michigan University baseball team dropped a pair of games to Southeast Missouri State on Wednesday afternoon, 7-5 and 7-2.
The Chippewas fell to 4-8 on the season while the Indians improved to 5-8.
In the opening game, SEMSU used a six-run second inning to jump ahead of CMU for good. The Chippewas attempted a late-game rally by scoring three in the fifth and one each in the sixth and seventh, but couldn't manage more than five runs.
No CMU hitter notched more than one hit or one RBI in the game.
J.T. Johnson (0-1) pitched a complete game in earning the loss. He allowed seven earned runs in six innings and struck out five.
In the second game, the Indians got on the board first once again with a two-run first inning. The Chippewas pulled within one in the third, 2-1, and the fourth, 3-2, but couldn't keep pace with SEMSU who scored four runs in the final four innings.
Ryan Cremeans (1-1) earned the loss for CMU. He threw seven innings and gave up five earned runs.
