Soccer Blanked by Buffalo, 3-0

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Central Michigan University soccer team was blanked at Buffalo on Sunday afternoon, 3-0, to break its four-match unbeaten streak.
The Chippewas fall to 3-4-1 this season and 1-1-1 in the Mid-American Conference with the Bulls improving to 3-5 and 2-1 in conference play. CMU opens the home portion of its MAC schedule next weekend, hosting Bowling Green on Friday at 3 p.m., and Toledo on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Buffalo put the match away with two goals less then four minutes apart in the first half. Lindsay Szafranski scored in the 22nd minute to give UB the lead with Kathleen Fage scoring in the 25th minute to give her squad a 2-0 lead. The Bulls would tack on an insurance goal three minutes into the second half, making the final score 3-0.
Buffalo goalkeeper Anna-Lesa Calvert made eight saves to earn the shutout with CMU keeper Anne Decker making four saves. CMU out shot the Bulls, 17-12, but were out cornered, 6-5.
