Recap | Box Score | Quotes * Central Michigan has not allowed a second-half touchdown in the last five games.* The leading rushers for each team were their respective quarterbacks. Kent Smith ran for 89 yards on 23 carries while Bruce Gradkowski rushed for 60 yards in 13 carries.
* Kent Smith's 17-yard TD pass to Damien Linson for game's first score marked the first time this season that Toledo has given up an offensive touchdown to its opponent in the first quarter.
* CMU had four of its seven pass breakups in the final 10 plays of the game.
* CMU's defense held UT's Trinity Dawson to just nine yards on nine carries. He entered the game ranked fourth in the MAC and 20th in the nation with 102.9 yards per game.
* CMU junior defensive end Dan Bazuin tied the school's single season sack record with his ninth of the season. He joins four other players at the top of the list (Kevin Egnatuk in 1983, Mike Nettie in 1991, Jon McCall in 1998 and Joe Adam in 1999). Bazuin also moved up to a tie for fourth on the career chart with 18, joining Pat Brackett. The career record of 22 is held by Jon McCall (1996-98).
* CMU's win snapped a 10-game losing to Toledo; the last win against the Rockets came at home in 1994 en route to the MAC championship; in that win, CMU's Brian Pruitt ran for a then school record 356 yards; Pruitt was honored today as one of CMU's six inductees in the CMU Athletic Hall of Fame.
* Key to CMU's victory was the fact that the Chippewa defense stopped Toledo on four fourth-down situations; the Rockets were 0-for-4 while CMU was 2-for-3, with both successful conversions on the game-winning drive. * CMU has now won four straight for the first time since 1994.
* The Chippewa defense held the Rockets to a season-low 95 yards rushing ... the Rockets entered the game averaging 231.3 yards per game.
* Justin Harper had six catches to move into third on CMU's career chart with 134.
