CMU Women Lose at Bowling Green, 72-58

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Central Michigan University's women's basketball team led only once here Tuesday night in dropping a 72-58 Mid-American Conference decision to Bowling Green.
The Chippewas fell to 9-14 for the season and 3-9 in MAC action while the MAC West-leading Falcons are now 17-6 and 10-2.
CMU's lone lead came at 13-11 with 12:23 to play in the opening half. The game was tied at 27-27 with 4:18 to go before BG moved into a 35-30 halftime bulge.
The Falcons extended the lead to 18 points on three occasions in the second half to cruise to the win.
CMU shot 57.1 percent from the floor in the first half, hitting 12-of-21. However, 37.5 percent from the field in the second half on 12-of-32 proved to be the Chippewa undoing. For the game, CMU was 24-of-53 for 45.3 percent.
Bowling Green finished at 27-of-53 for game (50.9 percent) and was a sizzling 10-of-17 from behind the three-point line.
Junior Erin Kuhl led CMU with 14 points, all in the first half, while senior Lindy Hatfield chipped in with 12.
BG had four players in double figures, led by Carin Horne and Ali Mann with 16 each.
CMU is idle until Monday, Feb. 21,when Akron comes to Rose Arena for a televised game at 8 p.m.
