Rockets Blast Past Men's Hoops, 68-44

TOLEDO, Ohio - Central Michigan University's top two scorers combined for just one field goal and the Chippewas shot just 31 percent from the floor in a 68-44 road loss at Toledo on Saturday night.
Kevin Nelson and Sefton Barrett, who had combined to average 39 points together in the previous three games, teamed up for just one basket and nine free throws together.
The Chippewas turned the ball over a season-high tying 24 times, including the first three possessions of the game.
Eddie Spencer led CMU with 10 points off the bench.
The Rockets fall to 14-12 overall, 9-7 in the MAC while CMU drops to 9-17 overall, 3-14 in the MAC.
Three Rocket players were in double figures, including Florentino Valencia's game-high 15.
CMU was 12-for-39 from the floor and made just 1-of-9 three-point attempts for 11 percent.
Meanwhile, Toledo shot 49 percent while scoring 18 points off turnovers and another 15 off second-chance opportunities.
Nelson, the MAC's second-leading scorer averaging 18.2 points per game, was held to a season-low tying six. Freshman Drew Walker added six points as CMU's starting center.
The Chippewas are off until closing the regular season next Saturday at Bowling Green. Tiopoff is set for 2 p.m.
