MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University senior Jeff Jenerou (Manistique, Mich./Manistique HS) took part in the inaugural Magnolia Gridiron All-Star Classic on Dec. 24.
Jenerou, a four-year starter on the offensive line at CMU, was part of a roster of seniors representing Division I-A schools that posted a 19-7 win over a squad consisting of seniors from Division I-AA, II and III institutions.
The all-star game, played at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Miss., gave approximately 90 student-athletes an opportunity to practice and compete in front of professional scouts.
Jenerou played in 38 career games at CMU, starting 32. He started all 11 contests at right guard as a senior in 2005 as the Chippewas finished 6-5 overall, 5-3 in the Mid-American Conference. He was a second team All-MAC selection as a senior.
Jenerou is one of two Chippewa seniors slated to play in all-star games. Quarterback Kent Smith will appear in the Las Vegas All-American Classic on Jan. 14.
