Men's Basketball at Western Michigan: Game Notes

The Central Michigan University Chippewas (7-9, 2-2 Mid-American) travel to rival Western Michigan University (9-8, 3-1 Mid-American) on Tuesday, Jan. 22, for a game that will be showcased nationally on ESPNU. Tipoff from University Arena is set for 7 p.m. Michael Reghi and Jim Chones will call the action.

In the series, the home team has won 13 of the last 17 meetings. Of those four teams to win on the road during the span, three went on to win the MAC title (CMU in 2001 and 2003 and WMU in 2004). The other game involving a road win went to double-overtime as Western edged Central, 75-71, in 2006.

The Chippewas are coming off a 77-63 win over Northern Illinois on Saturday as MAC West Division Player of the Week Giordan Watson scored a season-high 29 points. He became the first player in MAC history with 1,500 points, 400 assists and 175 steals.

The Broncos were a 75-62 winner over Toledo on Saturday.
