Chippewas Fall to No. 14 Badgers, 3-0

MADISON, Wis. -- No. 14 Wisconsin swept the Central Michigan volleyball team, 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-19), to conclude the first day of action at the InnTowner Invitational on Friday.

It was the first time this season the Chippewas failed to win at least one set in a match. Central's only previous loss came in a 3-2 decision to Liberty.

CMU (6-2) hit just -.010, including 10 blocks by Wisconsin. The Badgers hit .368, just the second time all season a team hit over .200 against the Chippewas.

Whitney Evers led the Chippewas with eight kills and Kate Fissel added six. Alexis Lonneman and Erika Neumann each had six digs to pace the CMU defense.

Central returns to action tomorrow when the Chippewas conclude the tournament against BYU (10 a.m.) and Boise State (5 p.m.).
