Chippewas Open 2009-10 Practice Schedule

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The 2009-10 season is officially underway, as the Central Michigan men's basketball team started practice on Friday.
Oct. 16 marked the first day teams were allowed to hold full-scale workouts.
Although it was only one practice, head coach Ernie Zeigler was pleased with what he saw early on.
"It was refreshing to officially kick off the season," Zeigler said. "I thought we had great effort today, and although we have a ways to go it was a good step in the right direction."
Zeigler felt the Chippewas showed signs of coming together as a squad mere minutes into the first workout.
"Our camaraderie and chemistry was nice to see so early on in the season," Zeigler said. "Some of our newcomers are also much further along than we expected. It was also nice to see Marko Spica back out on the floor after his injury last season, and we'll just need to work toward getting him reacclimatized to being on the floor."
The Chippewas open their exhibition schedule on Nov. 1, against Marygrove at Rose Center.
