Bitzer Earns NABC All-District Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT Central Michigan University men’s basketball player Jordan Bitzer has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 14 Second Team.
The NABC realigned the districts this season so that each district is made up of a conference or multiple conferences. CMU’s District, No. 14, is comprised of teams from the Mid-American Conference. A first and second team were selected.
Bitzer was second on the team is scoring at 12.1 points per game. He also led CMU in steals (2.1), free throw percentage (86.3) and minutes (33.2) while finishing second in assists (2.1), rebounding (4.9), three-point percentage (34.9) and three-pointers made (37). Had he played enough games, Bitzer would have led the MAC in steals, ranked third in free throw percentage and in the top 20 in scoring and rebounding.
In conference action, Bitzer helped CMU earn a share on the MAC West Division title with 12.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, both good for second on the team. He also led CMU and the MAC in steals (2.25) while shooting a team-best 86.2 percent at the line which also ranked fifth in the conference. Bitzer was 12th in scoring and 20th in rebounding in league games. He led CMU in scoring six times this year and recorded 14 double-figure scoring games.
