MAC Football Preview Kicks Off 2009 Season

DETROIT - Central Michigan head coach Butch Jones, quarterback Dan LeFevour and defensive end Frank Zombo participated in the 2009 Mid-American Conference Football Preview on Friday.
The conference's annual media day was held at Ford Field in downtown Detroit.
Jones, LeFevour and Zombo met with reporters for nearly three hours to preview and discuss the upcoming 2009 football season. Click on the Photo Album link above for photos from the event.
Those attending media day were greeted by a new CMU billboard at Comerica Park, directly across the street from the main entrance to Ford Field. This marks the second straight year CMU has secured a presence on the back of the Detroit Tigers' scoreboard. More photos of the billboard are available in the Photo Album.
Media attending the event tabbed CMU as the favorite to win the MAC West Division and the MAC Championship. Click here for the complete preseason poll.
CMU opens preseason camp on Aug. 5. The Chippewas' season opener is at Arizona on Sept. 5.
