MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan sophomore receiver Cody Wilson (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams HS) is this week's Mid-American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Wilson caught 12 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown in the Chippewas' 26-22 win over Western Michigan last week. His 12 receptions tied for the fifth highest single-game total in CMU history, while his 185 yards rank seventh in school history. Both totals were career highs.
Wilson maintains a 3.91 grade-point average and is a member of the 2010 ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-District IV first team.
The MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week’s competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference’s faculty athletic representatives.
CMU visits Navy on Saturday for a nonconference matchup beginning at 3:30 p.m.
